Rain, Hail or Shine, Melbourne Stands with Palestine - 1 Aug 2014

Dear friends,
Melbourne held its four rally in solidarity with Palestine tonight (Friday, 1 August).  Despite the bitter pouring rain and hail, as the rally started we had approximately 500 - 600 people turned out on a bitterly cold Friday night in Melbourne. By the end of the rally, the numbers had grown to between 800- 1000.

Protesters were determined to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine.  After hearing a number of speech, the rally participants took to the streets of the CBD.

Please find below photos of tonight's Melbourne solidarity action take by myself and my comrade, Corey Oakley, who is an editor of the socialist newspaper, Red Flag.

The next rally for Gaza will be at 1pm on Saturday, 9th August at the State Library of Victoria.

In solidarity, Kim
